Mama Sissoko (1999) Soleil de Minuit 2/11/2008

I guess this album is considered to be Malian guitar-legend Mama Sissoko's most successful in the Western market. Rootsworld.com has a more detailed review than I'm really capable of giving. It's one of those deals where the line between traditional, contemporary, Eurocentric and "world" music are blurred enough that we don't know who we are or when we are anymore, and we've all become citizens of a new global culture and collective heirs to every corner of human history. It's pretty poppy, it's good.
