Lucier's own words:
"I am sitting in a room different from the one you are in now. I am recording the sound of my speaking voice and I am going to play it back into the room again and again until the resonant frequencies of the room reinforce themselves so that any semblance of my speech, with perhaps the exception of rhythm, is destroyed. What you will hear, then, are the natural resonant frequencies of the room articulated by speech. I regard this activity not so much as a demonstration of a physical fact, but more as a way to smooth out any irregularities my speech might have."
Very interesting piece. About a dozen or so minutes in the words become indecipherable, and we start getting some very bizarre sounds--unearthly, pure tones. Well worth at least one intent listen.
This is a 1970 composition--the 1990 date comes from the release of this particular recording, although I'm not sure if that's when it was recorded, or if it's a re-release date, or what.

Well, Nathan Williams, aka Wavves, has gotten considerably more popular since he was last featured here, hasn't he? Seeing as how TPot upped the first album and isn't around for the follow-up, I figured I should fill the void. Another nice set of lo-fi, noisy, catchy "beach punk." Here you go!
